INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROPER INSTALLATION

Download CalendarBrowserSetup in .exe or .zip format. (Extract the .zip file.)

Create a Calendar Browser directory in any shared file folder on your server and save the file you downloaded: CalendarBrowserSetup.exe into it. You can use either a UNC-path, such as \\servername\sharename, or a mapped drive, such as Y:.

From a client with Microsoft Office installed and Outlook closed, go into the folder where you put the CalendarBrowserSetup.exe and click the file to start the installation.

Select New Calendar Browser.

By default, the installer specifies the path to the folder where CalendarBrowserSetup.exe is placed and installs all the files there.

When prompted, select or create a new Calendar Browser folder in Outlook. It should be a public folder or shared mailbox of the type Mail and Post Items.
(When the installation is finished you may load Example data)

CALENDAR BROWSER CLIENT

During the server installation the Calendar Browser client tool is installed on the PC used for the installation.
From other machines where Calendar Browser should be used, go into the Calendar Browser server folder and run the file CBClientSetup.msi. Outlook should be closed when the client is installed. The installer is designed to be run by the local administrator.

Calendar Browser Clinet Tool Installation

The file CBClientSetup.msi may also be used for a central installation of the Calendar Browser client tool, using Group Policy in Active Directory.

Calendar Browser is based on Microsoft Exchange server, and standard Exchange folder permissions are used.

To install and use Calendar Browser you need:

  • Outlook 2007 or above installed on each client. Both the 32-bit and the 64-bit versions are supported.

  • An Exchange server, any version.

  • Microsoft Excel 2007 and above for the statistics tool.

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 Extended or above. If it is not present, the installer will give a download link.

Register Calendar Browser

  • Premium Subscribers may request a register free copy of Calendar Browser.

  • Other users must register Calendar Browser after the trial period is over. This is done via the License button in the Administrator Settings.

  • If the person who registers Calendar Browser has Owner’s right over the Calendar Browser folder in Outlook, registration is done for all users of Calendar Browser.
