Folder HelpDesk Improve Performance

Performance? How can I make Folder HelpDesk faster?

Of course there are several ways to improve performance. Since Folder HelpDesk is built on top of your Outlook-client, your Exchange infrastructure and your LAN setup it depends on a lot of things. However, these are some tips that should get you quicker performance:

Use SQL instead of MS Access as the database – that will move some of the work off the client computer and onto the server instead. If you don’t have MS SQL you might want to try the free MSDE database server instead. It is available free from Microsoft.

Use a mapped network drive instead of a unc-path to the network file share where the OutlookHelpDesk.exe is placed.

Since most of the work is done on the client machine a newer computer will get you much increased performance.
