Migration to new file server: how do we migrate the Folder HelpDesk shared files to a new file server?



Please follow this procedure:


Move the Folder HelpDesk folder to the new location by cut and paste (or copy it and then delete the old folder).


Start Outlook. When you go into the Folder HelpDesk Outlook folder it will show a new button in the toolbar: “Go to FHD Folder”. Use it to browse to the new network folder.


Restart Outlook. Now the new path has been set automatically for all the other users as well.


Number 2 can be done from any machine, but you must have owner permission over the Folder HelpDesk Outlook folder.
